Esmée Witsel is a Dutch-Australian artist and writer who dedicates her practice to telling stories with worlds that are often grim, humorous, and feel like a memory you lived once yourself. She followed up her bachelor of Audio Visual Media at the School of the Arts of Utrecht, with her bachelor of ArtScience at the Royal Academy of Arts. Here her practice grew from writing and directing to designing and building animatronics for film-, theatre- and videogameproductions, graduating in 2026 with her mixed media installation Dissonder.
